Protection & Control IEDs
Modern IEDs provide great savings. A single IED provides the functionality
of a traditional panel, reducing wiring and components. The IED
protective functions are independent of the control module.
Substation Central Unit
To effectively harness and utilize the information provided by
the IEDs, the Central Unit is in charge of the following tasks:
- Communication management
- Protocol emulation (master / slave)
- Logic and interlocking
- Substation automatic controls
- Real time data base
- Alarms and events managing
Substation HMI & Engineering Desk
The substation HMI provides real time monitoring and control
of the system. The combined sequence of events records (SER) is
an effective tool to analyze ocurrences in the system. In addition
to the control functions (SCADA like system) the integration is
completed by providing full access to the protection system (settings,
records, and reports).
Outside the substation the HMI software doubles as a remote engineering
desk.
Custom Data Management Software
High functional integrated systems are characterized by less physical
elements, linked by effective communications. The main difference
is the high volume of information generated. Systems would not be
completed without the required tools to process this information.
